Chinese artificial intelligence is equal to the world

Artificial intelligence (AI) technology, as the most imaginative technology in the future, has gained a lot of attention recently. The new generation of artificial intelligence development plan issued by the State Council highlights the determination and confidence of promoting AI strategy at the national level. This confidence comes from the rapid development and remarkable achievements of China's scientific research force in the field of AI in the past 5 years.

This wave of AI boom from 2012 ILSVRC (ImageNet mass visual recognition challenge) began to rise in the academic circles, to May this year, Google's AI AlphaGo chess program with 3: 0 win over world No.1 kija, so much attention. In the past 5 years, China academia and enterprises to grasp the trend of technology development, rapidly improve the level of R & D using China unique industrial advantages, at present in algorithms and applications have been standing in the forefront of the world. In the core chip research and development also responded quickly, laid a good industrial base. For the AI field, algorithms and chips are the basis of application, and sufficient talents are the decisive factors to ensure that technological upgrading can really promote industrial upgrading. This paper reviews the achievements we have obtained in the past 5 years from four aspects of algorithms, chips, applications and talents, analyzes the opportunities and gaps, and finally puts forward the prospect for the future.
